Frequently Asked Questions

What is Picture-It All?

Picture-It All is a powerful yet easy-to-use photo organization tool that lets you tag, search, view, and map your personal or professional image collections. It’s designed for photographers, families, and digital archivists.

What operating system is it compatible with?

Picture-It All is currently developed for Windows 11 and has support for modern UI features like the Mica effect and dark/light themes.

Do I lose my tags if I change computer or reinstall?

No. Picture-It All includes a Backup and Restore system so you can safely save all your tags, image data, to a zip file and move it to another PC.

Can I see my photos on a map?

Yes. If your photos have GPS information (like from a phone or GPS-enabled camera), Picture-It All lets you view them on a world map using OpenStreetMap integration.

What types of tags can I use?

You can create custom text tags (up to 10 characters each) and apply them to any number of photos. Tags can be reused and help in organizing and filtering your image collection quickly.

Can I search using multiple tags?

Yes. You can search for photos that match all tags (AND), any tags (OR), even excluding tags (NOT), giving you fine control over your searches.

Does it support multilingual interface?

Yes. Picture-It All supports English and Portuguese, and it automatically adapts based on your language setting. You can switch languages at any time.

Does the software modify my image files?

No. Your original images are never modified. Picture-It All uses a separate internal database to store tag associations and EXIF data references.

Can I rename my photos?

Yes. You can rename a single photo or do bulk renaming using patterns, saving time when organizing large batches.

What happens if I rename photos outside of Picture-It All?

If you rename or move your photos outside the program (e.g., using Windows Explorer), tag associations will be lost.

Picture-It All tracks images by their exact filename and folder path. Changing them externally makes it impossible for the program to find the original tags associations.

To safely rename files without losing tags, always use the built-in Rename or Bulk Rename tools inside the program.

Is there a help system?

Yes. The program includes a local help system, with modern HTML-based pages covering each section of the software. Just click the "Help" button in any screen.
